Awaiting User Consent

If the customer has not accepted the required terms and consents, the CC-Link unit will not activate.

This means vehicle data will not be available for proactive service, alerts, or diagnostics.

Understanding this helps you quickly identify why a vehicle is not active and what needs to happen next.

What happens if the invitation is not accepted?

If the customer has received an invitation but has not completed the acceptance and consent flow, the CC-Link will remain inactive.

In this case, you will see the following in ConnectedWorkshop:

  • A blue information box at the top of the vehicle page stating: “Waiting for user to accept the invitation”
  • A timeline showing the customer’s progress in the account creation and consent process
  • The signal indicator remains yellow, even if GPS and mobile network connectivity (GPRS) are technically available

This indicates that the hardware is connected, but activation is blocked due to missing user consent.

Which consents must be accepted?

For CC-Link activation under the VW agreement, the customer must accept the following mandatory items:

  1. Notifications about the vehicle
  2. Data collection from the vehicle
  3. General user terms
  4. Data policy
  5. Cookie policy

If any of these mandatory items are declined, the CC-Link will not activate.

Which consents are optional?

The user may choose “No thank you” for the following optional items without blocking activation:

  • Phone consent
  • News and offers

Declining these optional items does not affect CC-Link activation.
