Navigating ConnectedWorkshop Settings

The Settings area in ConnectedWorkshop serves as your primary configuration hub. Keeping this section accurate supports your daily workshop operations and ensures your customers receive reliable information through their communication channels.

Because this platform is integrated directly with the Volkswagen ConnectPro system, identity management and core workshop permissions are controlled externally. This guide explains your locally adjustable workshop features, commercial configurations, and personal profile options.

Your Personal Account Profile

To open your personal profile settings, click your initials in the bottom left-hand corner of the navigation bar:

By default, the system opens the Account tab first. Because authentication is handled centrally by ConnectPro, your login credentials, password resets, and Single Sign-On (SSO) options cannot be edited here.

In this local section, you can manage:

  • Contact Information: Review your registered name, direct phone number, and account email address.

  • Language Preferences: Select your preferred display language for the ConnectedWorkshop interface.

  • Local Notifications: Customise your direct email preferences for active conversation updates and unassigned technical alerts.

Managing Workshop Operations

Note:

While all assigned staff can view workshop settings, editing capabilities are strictly restricted to users holding Manager rights within ConnectPro.

To view these tools, select Workshop from the sub-navigation menu. This screen allows you to keep customer-facing communications and operational metadata updated across three main sections:

1. General Info & Configuration

This section displays the core parameters synced from your dealer profile:

  • Contact Data: Review the workshop’s registered name, physical address, and phone number.

  • Emergency Line: Add a dedicated emergency phone number to appear alongside your standard workshop details in digital customer outreach.

  • Quote Expiry: Determine the default number of days a service offer remains valid before automatically expiring in the customer communication log.

2. Opening Hours and Location Mapping

  • Opening Hours: Adjust your weekly operating schedule to reflect your team's real-time availability for vehicle scheduling.

  • Interactive Map: Click and drag the map pin to mark your exact service bay coordinates. This ensures location details match perfectly when drivers are directed to your site via ConnectPro notifications.

3. Auto-Replies

Located within the Workshop configuration screen, this tool manages incoming communication traffic during peak hours or holiday closures.

  • Action: Enable or disable automated template responses to manage customer expectations regarding response times when they interact with your digital messages.

Lead Configurations

  • gnostic flags (such as Engine Management Lights or Low Battery Voltage indicators) updates your main dashboard. This provides your service advisors with a clear view of total potential pipeline value, allowing them to prioritise outbound contact based on commercial urgency.

Connected Fleet Environments

For workshops managing corporate clients, a dedicated Fleet management panel is accessible from the main menu. This section allows you to group vehicles into distinct company accounts, establish fleet-specific contact protocols, and track commercial vehicles separately from retail workshop traffic.

Key Takeaway

While your primary user access and workshop identity are governed by the external ConnectPro system, your local ConnectedWorkshop settings control the day-to-day automation of your workflow. Regularly auditing your details ensures that automated messaging stays active, booking streams remain open, and your communication windows reflect your actual working hours.
