Learn how to manage your customers transition from FleetConnect to ConnectPro, operate between dual ConnectedWorkshop environments, and upgrade the CC-Link hardware for your fleet customers.
Why are there two environments?
FleetConnect is scheduled to be phased out in 2027 and is being replaced by Volkswagen’s new fleet management solution, ConnectPro. To help your customers transition, you will need to operate across two workshop environments (old & new) during the transition period:
1. Old environment:
- This environment is connected to the FleetConnect solution.
- This environment is for managing your already existing fleet customers. These customers and their vehicles must be migrated to the new environment by December 2027.
- You will see a blue top banner when working in the old environment.
- Creating new fleets and adding new vehicles is now disabled in the old environment.
- Access is via the standard username/password or social login.
2. New ConnectPro environment:
- This environment is connected to the new ConnectPro fleet management solution
- Used for setting up new fleets and vehicles.
- Access is via Group Retail Portal (GRP).
How to switch between the old and new workshop environment
Use the Switch Icon in the left sidebar menu to toggle between the old and new workshop environment:
How can your workshop help fleet customers migrate to Connect Pro?
As a workshop, you play a key role in helping your fleet customers switch over to the new environment.
You can support them by creating their fleet in the new environment, upgrading their CC-Link hardware if needed, and reminding them to migrate their vehicles once everything is ready.
-
Creating your customers fleet in ConnectPro:
- Create the fleet in the new environment: the fleet's VAT number should be identical to the current existing fleet.
- Once you have created the fleet, the customer will receive an invitation to set up ConnectPro. After completing their setup, they can migrate their vehicles from the old environment, to ConnectPro: -
CC-Link hardware swaps ("Replace Unit"):
Only vehicles with supported cc-link hardware can be migrated. If a vehicle needs an update, it will display a "Replace unit" status in the Vehicle Overview. Technicians must always use the Installation Assistant web-app to swap out the CC-Link device.- Fleets can request an appointment directly through the vehicle chat in the old environment.
- Workshop technicians must use the web-based Installation Assistant on a mobile phone or tablet (unit.ccars.io) to complete the cc-link hardware swap.
-
Vehicle migration:
- Once compatible hardware (v3/v4 CC-Link) is installed and the ConnectPro fleet is created, remind your fleet customer to complete the vehicle migration inside their old FleetConnect environment.
Troubleshooting Migration
If a customer reports a failed migration, check the following in your workshop system:
Hardware not activated: Ensure the new CC-Link device was properly activated using the Installation Assistant.
VAT mismatch: Verify that the customer's fleet in ConnectPro uses the exact same VAT number as their legacy fleet profile.
Active user assignments: Clear or resolve any active user assignments tied to the vehicle in the legacy system.
